What You'll Do

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll operations and processing for multi-state payroll. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, accuracy in payroll calculations, timely and effective administration. Responsible for strong collaboration with various departments and management to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • • Oversee payroll and manage the daily operations and end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
  • • Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions.
  • • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • • Reviews and reconciles payroll reports, including tax filings, year-end reporting, and W2/1099 and works with State agencies to resolve discrepancies.
  • • Responsible for setting up payroll withholding and/or unemployment in new states when necessary.
  • • Responsible for auditing payroll data, resolving discrepancies and implementing system improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
  • • Interfaces between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information.
  • • Leads and develops the payroll team, providing necessary training and support.
  • • Maintain deep understanding of current payroll regulations and laws, and adapts processes as needed to ensure compliance.
  • • Document procedures and implement effective best payroll practices.
  • • Facilitates audits by providing records, reporting and documentation to auditors.
  • • Manages the resolution of complex issues or errors.
  • • Development of payroll policies and engagement with management to ensure compliance with payroll deadlines and timecard approval requirements.
What You'll Need
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, with 1-3 years of supervisory experience highly desired.
  • • Extensive knowledge of the payroll administration and functions including tax balancing, internal controls, and payroll tax preparations.
  • • Deep understanding of payroll regulations in multiple states is crucial, including compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • • Certification in payroll (CPP) or related credentials highly desired.
  • • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel.
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • • ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience strongly desired.
  • • Compliance, federal and state payroll laws.
